There is a story about a woman on a train who kept searching her purse because she thought she lost a gold coin. She looked over and over inside her purse and then began to look at the man across from her suspiciously. But when she dug into her purse more deeply, she realized that what she sought was still there and always had been. She received a new purse for her birthday and didn't realize it had another deeper pocket.
That is like us. We search for something we think we've lost, and sometimes think someone has stolen it from us, but in reality, it is still there. It never left us.
That is how we might think about our future or God's promises to us. We might think we have lost something, but we haven't. The gold of His promises is still with you and it is closer to you than you think.
He takes pleasure in giving you every kind of blessing from above because you are His valued daughter or son. When He sees you, He smiles, because He likes you very much. He likes you just as you are, even before you are able to become perfect.
